We are excited to announce the signing of New Zealand junior freestyler Sam Mckenzie to the F-Team.

Sam impressed us here at Funky Truks HQ when he beat a stong field of Aussies at last year's Australian Age Championships, touching the wall in a blistering 52.06 in the 15 years 100m freestyle.

Sam is the reigning age group champion in the 100m freestyle in New Zealand as well as holding the national record for the event.

The talented new F-Teamer is our first male swimmer from across the Tasman and is a great addition to our ever-growing list of elite swimmers.

Sam said he wants to improve on what was an outstanding year in 2015.

The young gun's goal is to make the Junior Pan Pacs team in New Zealand with his ultimate dream being the 2020 Olympics.

"I'm training hard to perform well at the 2016 Australian Age Champs and improve on my gold and silver from last year.

"These goals can be made one step closer to reality with hard work and support from Funky Trunks.

They provide the best in gear needed for training. I love the bright colours and the comfortable fitting trunks."

Sam is juggling his year 12 studies and training twice a day to make his dreams a reality.

He is waking up at precisely 4.53am every morning to get as much sleep as he possibly can! Welcome Sam!
